One Month to Live

I am so excited about the One Month to Live Challenge. If you haven't been at church in the past couple of weeks then you may not know what the challenge is all about. Beginning on Sunday September 7 we will be taking an All Church Challenge to live out the month of September as is it were our last month on this earth.

Think about it, how would you live differently if you knew you had only one month to live? You might do something you had always wanted to do. You might go on a trip to Paris, or go sky diving, or run with the bulls in Spain. You might make a relationship right with a family member, or forgive a friend you had been holding a grudge against. You would probably spend a lot more time with family and loved ones. You would definately look at life differently. You would take advantage of every moment. That is how Jesus has called us to live everyday of our lives.

In the One Month to Live Challenge we will be taking a look at this very important question.

During this campaign I will be doing a series of messages on Sunday’s focusing on how Jesus lived in the last 30 days of His life. We will be beginning brand new Lifegroups that will be studying the OMTL curriculum. We will be reading a best selling book by Kerry Shook of Houston TX called One Month to Live. We will be journaling our experiences in this incredible journey in our OMTL challenge journals. We will be having some special worship and prayer services and doing some special outreach and service projects.

We will be taking the challenge to live in those 30 days from September 7- October 6 as if it were our last 30 days. It’s going to be the most exciting thing we have ever done so far here at Lifegate Church. I want to see everyone to get involved.

I want every person to read a book and journal your experiences. I want everyone to be here for ever Sunday service, Lifegroup and special meeting during the campaign. I want everyone to invite a friend or neighbor to experience this awesome journey with us.

I believe that this challenge can really be life changing if we will all get involved . If you want to check out more about the OMTL challenge you can take a look www.onemonthtolive.org

What a great idea! I will do this long distance!
I just read Randy Pausch's book "The Last Lecture." It was good...but this one sounds better!

I'm sooooo ready for this challenge to start! Last night in our Lifegroup we finished up the "Go Fish" series and it was about ensuring those that were a part of our past sinful life know about the abundant spiritual riches we have as believers.
During my reading at lunch today I was in Jonah and what popped out to me in Chapter 4 was what God was trying to drum into Jonah's head with the use of the withered vine (for those that aren't familiar with it, pay attention to 4:10-11). God cares for all of us, including sinners, and wants everyone to be involved in a loving, growing relationship with Him.
Personally, I'm soaking in as much as I can to utilize during the OMTL challenge and beyond. I want to make sure I always remember to reach out to those around me, not only because I'm called to do so but simply because God loves the lost as much as He loves me, coupled with trying to always live as if my time here could end at any moment.
The potential this challenge has for personal spiritual growth, impacting our community and also numerical growth for Lifegate is amazing! I can't wait!!
