God's Church!

I haven't written anything in a couple of days, I have been away from the office at our annual North Texas district council. The north texas district is all of the AG churches in the north texas area. This area includes all of the metroplex as well as out into east texas as far as Tyler and west Texas as far as Abilene and South as far as Austin. There are close to 500 churches in our district. It was great to spend some time with other pastors from around the area, and hear what God is doing in their churches. Our superintendant challenged all of the churches in North Texas to work together to reach more people for God. I especially liked when he said, don't think of us as 500 different churches, but as one church meeting in 500 different locations each Sunday. It is pretty cool to think that we are a part of something much bigger than just ourselves here at Lifegate in Burleson, we are a part of an organization that has over 70,000 people in attendance every Sunday. Even greater than that, we are not just a part of the Assemblies of God, we are a part of God's church as a whole. Think of all the other believers all around the world who come together every week to worship the savior. That is a pretty awesome thought. Jesus said "upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." God is building his church , and we are blessed to be a part of it. It's not just about Lifegate, it's about God's Kingdom around the world. I am so excited to be a part of that.
